Where’s Larry? A Guide to Greeting Him On The Big Ride!

Behind the scenes, we’re finalizing both small and large details for Larry’s big ride across South Dakota in a few short weeks. Thanks to Betty Smith, Team Larry, and a large network of volunteers, the details are coming together!
People across South Dakota have expressed an interest in supporting Larry along this physically and mentally challenging journey. Now that we know exactly where Larry will be and when, we’d like to invite you along.
Here’s how you can provide moral support:
1. Sign up to Cross the Finish Line with Larry on June 25th! Choose to ride from either Sioux Falls or Beresford to Vermillion and join the Finish Line festivities. Proceeds benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation!
Or
2. Show your support along the route… cheers, signs, and waves are greatly appreciated! Or, if you’re in the mood and love to bike too, feel free to join Larry for a few miles. He’d love the company!
*The dates / locations of the ride are:
Day 1 (June 21): Aberdeen – Webster (Morning Ride-Out, Afternoon Arrival)
Day 2 (June 22): Webster – Watertown (Morning Ride-Out, Afternoon Arrival)
Day 3 (June 23): Watertown – Brookings (Morning Ride-Out, Afternoon Arrival)
Day 4 (June 24): Brookings – Sioux Falls (Morning Ride-Out, Afternoon Arrival)
Day 5 (June 25): Sioux Falls / Beresford – Vermillion (Arrive Afternoon of the 25th)
Celebration between 12 and 2:30PM
*The exact times are to be determined.
Keep in mind that if you do decide to ride along with Larry for a portion of the journey, you’ll need to provide your own nutrition, electrolytes, food, etc. Please understand we’re a small ride run completely by volunteers and donations, which means we have a very limited capacity. We appreciate your understanding, kindness, and support.
See you along the route!

Hi. I saw Larry and his wife speak in Vermillion a few weeks ago at USD and I am speaking with the Parkinson’s support group in Watertown, SD today. I would love to tell them where in Watertown Larry will stop and start so they can help support his ride. GO LARRY! I am so excited to share the message with the group here about the effects of exercise on individuals with PD! You both are an inspiration!
Sincerely,
Julie Kalahar, Occupational Therapist
